Antique Garnet Brooch Beetle/Insect circa 1920, Gilded Tombac,
Bohemian Garnets
For sale is a charming antique insect brooch from around 1920.
This delicate piece of jewelry is designed in the shape of a beetle (or fly) and
captivates with its intricate setting of deep red Bohemian garnets.
The body is dominated by a large, teardrop-shaped old-cut garnet cabochon.
The head and wings are set with numerous small, faceted garnets in pavé
settings, which sparkle beautifully in the light.
The setting is made of tombac, an alloy typical for garnet jewelry of this era,
which harmonizes perfectly with the dark stones.
The brooch features a sturdy, original pin with a C-clasp and safety catch,
which functions perfectly.
The brooch is in excellent antique condition. All stones are present and securely
set. The metal exhibits an authentic, age-appropriate patina, which underlines its
antique character. No visible damage or major scratches.
