Magnificent antique garnet brooch from the Historicism period (circa 1860)<\/strong><\/p>\n For sale is an exquisite piece of jewelry for lovers of classic Bohemian craftsmanship.<\/p>\n This oval, slightly domed brooch is a typical example of the sought-after garnet jewelry of the mid-19th century.<\/p>\n The brooch is set all over with deep red Bohemian garnets in the traditional rose cut.<\/p>\n The stones shimmer with the characteristic „pigeon’s blood“ red hue when light hits them.<\/p>\n Multi-tiered, oval shape with a central, raised cluster. The delicate setting in tombac (a copper-zinc alloy common at the time) makes the garnets appear almost to float.<\/p>\n The reverse features a classic C-clasp with a long pin mechanism, typical of the 19th century.<\/p>\n Excellent antique condition.
