ornamental bowl (*coupé ovale*) crafted in France during the second half of the
19th century.
This magnificent object impresses with its masterful combination of heavy, cut
crystal glass and an intricately chased, fire-gilded bronze mount (*bronze doré*).
Fine Materials: The original, thick-walled crystal glass bowl fits perfectly into the
mount and features a beautiful star-cut pattern on the base that refracts light in
a fascinating way.
Masterful Bronze Mount: The frame is richly decorated in the classic French style
of the 19th century, featuring relief-carved rose garlands encircling the piece, floral
festoons, and architecturally structured, raised handles.
Majestic Stance: The jardinière rests on four elegantly curved lion-paw feet,
